Post Bonnarooooooo.

Yeasayer live at Bonnaroo.

Such an amazing festival with a truly wonderful crowd! The 3rd Yeasayer show in over 6 months was a smash down at Bonnaroo 2009 and if you google hard enough you'll find shaky footage with shitty audio...but its a taste! Below is my favorite clips of the hand claps.

One more tiny tour to and from Pitchfork with blood Ponytail and then back into the studio to finish the soon to be second Yeasayer long-player. Exciting indeed! Expect another fall tour announcement, like I said, very very soon.

Best.

  1. How about sticking Australia on your touring plans? The weather's awesome, the venues are brilliant (esp. in Melbourne) and we are guaranteed to thoroughly dig your sound. I mean, there's me as a fan for a start - we'll convert the rest soon enough. So, please make your way to our crazy egg-laying-marsupial-infested land with all haste.

Though - on review of pleas from my fellow posters in earlier threads - I'm thinking I've never been to Malta, so please go there on the way "down under" so you can tell me all about it when you get here.

    Yours in moist-mouthed anticipation,
    Jaymap

p.s. Is it just me, or are the harmonic guitar chords behind the early verses in Sunrise reminiscent of those toward the end of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Maximum Joy"?

  2. Hey Jaymap.

The band actually played Australia a little bit ago, but maybe you were busy roughing it in the Outback. There will be plans to come back in 2010.

  3. To the members of Yeasayer,

I had a question about the lyrics to one of your songs: Red Cave. I was at the show last night at Rock the Garden (great set, by the way!) and for the first time noticed that the chorus to that song is the translation to one of the longest town names in the world in Wales. I visited that town a couple of years ago while I was studying abroad in the UK.

I was wondering what the reason was behind this choice, or what connection you have to this place.

    Keep making the beautiful music,

    Anne

  4. I attended the Yeasayer show at Bonnaroo. I listened to you guys on myspace a week before leaving and really liked it. So, when it came time to see you I had talked the 4 other people I was with to see you play. I have to say it was my favorite out of the whole weekend hands down and my friends agree! We were in the back just outside the tent grooving so hard to your music. Honestly, I can't explain the energy your music created. It was amazing the back turned into a glow stick and light circle pit, if you will, with around 60 people. After, you finished playing we were all kinda sad because we knew nothing else could top it and nothing else did. When we finally walked away we couldn't even talk until one of my friends said "what just happened?! That was amazing!!" It was a truly remarkable show and I'm look forward to seeing you guys soon, i hope! (Orlando, Fl) While we were dancing in the light circle I noticed people recording it on their cameras. I'm hoping someone posts something on youtube soon. Thank you so much Yeasayer for making my Bonnaroo saturday night!!

    With much love,
    Lyndsey
